For those of you that don't know: BAYarts is located across the street from Huntington Beach and may look small at first – but you will be pleasantly surprised at how much this campus really has to offer. Carter and Avery are too young to take art classes (which BAYarts does offer - they even had some kids art courses taking place today), craft classes or really…most classes…but this does not mean that they are too young to appreciate the arts.
I plopped Avery down in her stroller and Carter, Avery and I strolled through the BAYarts campus. There’s a beautiful gallery (Carter found sidewalk chalk outside the door),
a café, a red caboose (or as Carter called it – a “Wed CHOO CHOO”),
it even looked like there was an area for live music. I can only imagine how fun this area is when there are more events going on – or at night when the lights are lite.
After visiting the campus – we found a huge open field (just down the hill) where we chased bugs for a little bit (read: Carter ran after a weird bee-looking thing – while I followed him trying to explain that bugs don’t want to play, and Avery hung out in her car seat – most likely annoyed with being stuck in a field…in her carseat). Just to clarify - bug chasing was not on my list of things to do. It just happened to be something that this trip turned into. What can I do ... he's a boy.
