4 Month Report

Today's Dr. appointments were very promising. The baby's heart rate is very strong (160) and they took multiple pictures that still look somewhat blob like - but good. One thing is for sure - our kid has a BIG head. I guess that the proportions even out later on though.

Here are some pictures ... good luck being able to tell what they are:

Here is the profile of the face. And the baby's big head.

Here is the entire length of the baby (a HUGE 4 inches long)

Dear Lady at Target,

Just because someone in the baby section at a store looks sick - does not mean they want to hear about your pregnancy horror stories. And when someone starts to dry heave on you - just walk away ... don't try to relate or comfort...just leave the sick pregnant lady alone. Under no circumstances should you touch the pregnant sicko or rub her arm. No circumstances.

Just not acceptable.

Baby Gottschalk

Well, there is some confusion as to what my actual due date is (we will have an better idea on the due date at our 5 month ultrasound). But - according to our latest dr's appointment - this is where we're at.

So - less like a sea monkey and more ... alien-like.

HG = Hungry Girl? No - No it does not.

Well, baby Gottschalk officially hates me. I have a condition called HG (Hyperemesis gravidarum - which basically is translated into "Severe pregnancy sickness"). I guess modern science couldn't just call it the "this sucks" condition?

So - while almost 80% of pregnant women get morning sickness...only 1% of preggos get this lovely HG mess. I feel so special.

Today i had my first IV to help treat it (well, more to help me get some fluids before the baby starts to eat me from the inside). And i also had my first run-in with the world's worst IV giver. This woman literally forgot to put a cap on the iv needle. I kid you not. My blood was squirting like a water fountain all over.

I'm just angry that i have to spend the next 6 months sick, and i'm angry for my blood stained pants. I really liked them.

Canada for New Years

For New Years - Chad and I went to Niagara on the Lake with Trad and Michael. It was a beautiful town and i highly recommend it for wine tasting and relaxing get-a-ways.

We had dinner at this amazing vineyard. It was all set up in the wine cellar - with candles and a new glass of wine for each course. So, I told the guys that if they liked their current glass of wine - they could have mine too. So - as you will see as you scroll down...we ended up with some dinner ninjas.

We had a blast. Minus me getting sick half way through dinner and having to spend some quality time in the restroom. It was a nice restroom though. And the guys all came up and took shifts hanging out with me so i wouldn't have to go back to the dinner and smell food (which i guess the baby hates....all food....bad baby).

Yes, yes - it's been awhile...

Well, I haven't posted in awhile ... and for good reason.

Chad and I were wanting to wait to post this news - until enough people knew - so that we wouldn't get angry, "why'd we have to read this on your blog" phone calls.

We are in fact expecting. I'm 3 months along. Here is what our little sea monkey looked like at 2 months. I'll have another picture in about 2 months.

I especially like that they labeled it "baby" - since i couldn't see it when they were showing us on the screen. How's that for motherly instinct?
